Nigeria’s Super Eagles are currently springing a surprise in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group D opener at the Stade Roumde Adjia in Garous, Cameroon.

The Eagles have not only neutralised Pharaohs of Egypt dangerman Mohamamed Salah but have also so far outplayed the seven-time African champions.

Moses Simon has been a thorn in the flesh of the Egyptians and one of his daring moves on the left flank ended in goal when Joe Aribo found “Senior Man” Kelechi Iheanacho, who fired home a fierce left footer into the net to break the deadlock in the 30th minute.

The match is presently into half time break, with Nigeria enjoying a goal lead.
