By JOHN NWOKOCHA, Abuja
Newly elected National Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council of Nigeria (IPAC),
Engr. Yabagi Yusuf Sani, has said he would sustain the vision, mission and objectives of the Council.
In his acceptance speech, Sani promised to justify the confidence reposed in him by
taking the council to the next level.
He commended delegates for finding him worthy to lead the Council.
He urged leaders of political parties to join hands with his executive to chart a way forward for IPAC.
He also commended his predecessor, Dr Leonard Nzenwa for his efforts in sustaining the vision, mission and objectives of IPAC.
Also, Sani applauded the Electoral Committee which had Senator Saidu Dansadau as chairman, Barr. Dan Nwanyanwu, secretary and Maggie Mariam Batubo, member, for conducting a free, fair and credible election observed by INEC officials, stating that there was no victor, no vanquished.
The election which held on Monday December 13, in Abuja, saw the emergence of a new executives to steer the ship of IPAC for the next two years.
The newly elected nine-member executives are:
National Chairman: Engr Yabagi Yusuf Sani (Action Democratic Party),
Deputy National Chairman: Mgbudem Maxwell (Accord Party),
National Secretary: Alh. Yusuf Dantalle (Allied People’s Movement),
Deputy National Secretary (Election suspended)
National Treasurer: Obidike Okolo (National Rescue Movement),

National Publicity Secretary: Amb. Agbo Major (New Nigeria Peoples Party),
National Organizing Secretary: Comr. Egbeola Olawale Martins (Young Progressives Party)

IPAC has suffered leadership crises over the years, making the one year tenure of the leaders almost unimpactful.
However, in line with the recently amended constitution the tenure has been extended to two years.
This will come into effect with the new executives.
