Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri
The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has declared a three-day mourning period for the late Brigadier General Dzarma Zirkusu "as a mark of honour for his sacrifice to our fatherland."
A statement signed by Director-General, Media and Communications to the Governor, Solomon Kumangar, said during the period which commences on Friday 26th to Sunday 28th November 2021, the national flag is expected to fly at half-mast across the state.
"The governor once more extends his deepest sympathy and that of the government to the family of the fallen General who paid the supreme sacrifice while defending the country," the statement issued on Thursday said.
News Express reports that General Zirkusu was recently killed in a terrorist ambush in neighbouring Borno State, along with some of his soldiers, while responding to an SOS by attacked troops. (Largely based on a Daily Independent report)
