By ABUBAKAR YUSUF
Congregation of Igala Catholic community in Nigeria, known as Igala All Saints has singled out former Kogi Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, for his support to Christian religious activities.
In his yearly program organised by the congregation at Our Lady of Schools, Anyigba, the Bishop of Idah Diocese, His Lordship Most Rev Bishop Anthony Adamu Adaji, commended the former Governor for his untiring efforts not only to Christianity, but religious development in Nigeria.
He said the efforts of the former Governor Idris in propagating Christian religion in Kogi state is unquantifiable, having identified with Christianity in all the programs geared towards religious advancement.
Bishop Adaji urged all Nigerians, particularly the political class to emulate the good virtues of Alhaji Idris towards religious rejuvenation in the current dispensation.
“Former Kogi Governor Idris made remarkable contributions towards the Christian community in Igala land and Kogi State particularly in the building of churches and schools.”
Responding, the former Kogi Governor appreciated the Igala Christian community for bestowing on him such a prestigious award, stating his intention to continue to do more for religious advancement and stability.
He said his decision to continue to contribute his widow's mite to religious development was in response and gratitude to Almighty God for his life and that of his family, saying that he will not relent in that regard.
The former Kogi Governor congratulated the Christian community on this year’s event, advising them to continue to preach the gospel towards a better and well reformed society.
