The Group Head, Business Development of News Express Nigeria, Nelson Obine, has been certified and conferred as a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC) in recognition of an outstanding academic and professional career, as well as demonstrated commitment to creating, maintaining, extending and promoting the highest world standards of management consulting practice, ethics, competence and client service. The conferment took place during the Certified Management Consultant (CMC) Certification Workshop and Fellowship induction recently held in Lagos on June 30, 2021.

Election to the fellowship status in addition to license granted as a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) by the Institute of Management Consultants, Nigeria chapter, was in accordance with standards set by the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI) based in Zürich, Switzerland, the institute’s regulating body.

The CMC is globally accepted and it is reciprocally recognised in over 50 countries of the world. The Mission of the Institute of Management Consultants is to provide membership services, training in areas of the body of knowledge in consulting, professional competency, ethical standards, and to create, maintain and extend global standards of management consulting.

Nelson Obine joined News Express in 2011 as Business Development Consultant and has been doing well. He earned the ‘Excellence Award 2015’ in management consulting category honoured by the Nigerian Top Executives Group; he is also a recipient of the IMAGES Conference Support Grant (ICSG) 2019. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria; member of the Africa Circular Economy Research and Policy Network ((ACERPiN); member of International Society for Development and Sustainability (ISDS), Japan; and a member of the United Nations’s SDG Help Desk.

Nelson had obtained an MBA in Business Administration from the Metropolitan School of Business & Management, United Kingdom; MSc in Sustainable Development Practice, at University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from Adekunle Ajasin University, Diploma Certificates in Journalism and Media, ISO Standards – Integrated Management System (IMS), ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018.
