The new Executive Management of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has assured that staff welfare will remain on the front burner, stating that a happy workforce makes for a more vibrant corporate entity.
Addressing staff at the Headquarters of the Fund in Abuja on Monday, the Executive Management, led by the Managing Director/CE, Dr. Michael Akabogu, thanked the staff for the support the EXCO has so far received, expressing gratitude especially for adhering to the dress code prescribed in line with the new drive to repositioning the Fund. He stated that sustaining the tempo would enhance Public perception.
In her remarks, the Executive Director, Administration, Mrs Maureen Allagoa, stated promotion letters for deserving staff had been released, explaining that “like in all examinations, there are bound to be successes and failures”.
She however said that the Management made some extraordinary concessions in evaluating the process that gave rise to the results amongst which were, the effect of the COVID-19 lockdown and the psychological weight that came with it. While congratulating the Staff that were promoted, she called on them to put in more efforts for the advancement of the Employees Compensation Scheme (ESS).
In his closing remark the Managing Director/CE has promised the staff better welfare package and added that for the first time the Management team of the Fund is harnessed from within.
It would be recalled that the NSITF Management organised the staff promotion examination conducted in February 2021 which was hitch free and in line with COVID-19 protocols to ensure that deserving staff are properly motivated and placed through an open, free, fair and transparent assessment procedure.
In addition, the new Management introduced high ethical standards in the work environment and in service delivery. Furthermore, Management has also succeeded in blocking financial leakages despite paucity of funds and has promised to consistently pay Staff salaries and allowances, in other to boost morale of staff and improving motivation.
