The management of Hub Gash Group of company has renovated and handed over the office complex of the Vice Chancellor to the university authority, as its style of sending congratulatory message to the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Federal University Gashua in Yobe State,
Handing over the complex in a brief but colourful ceremony, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the HUB Gash Investment Company, Kaka Bulama expressed delight over the cordial relationship between the university and the company.
The renovation took place immediately after Professor Maimuna Waziri took over the mantle of leadership of the university as Vice Chancellor
Congratulating the new Vice Chancellor on her recent appointment Bulama, noted Prof Waziri is the 3rd substantive Vice Chancellor of the university, saying: “The company has been in partnership with the university for a long time so we felt as part of our social responsibility to renovate two offices and the board room of the university.”
In a press statement signed and made available to journalists, by Head of Information and Protocol of the university, Adamu Saleh Gulani in Damaturu, the VC said she was overwhelmed by the company’s gesture.
The statement said while Prof Wazari was responding to the renovation of her office by the company, she expressed joy.
It added that “when she heard that the renovation of her office was done voluntarily by a local company could not hide her joy”.
“I am overwhelmed by this gesture,” Prof Waziri further declared.
She assured the company that the university under her leadership will ensure the consolidation of the existing partnership between the university and Hub Gash Investment Company continues in the interest of developing the university.
In own his remarks, the Acting Registrar, Dr. A. B Shehu, thanked the company management for the gesture offered to the institution and enjoined them to continue with the good work for better partnership.
