Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon E. Arase, has directed that the suspected leaders of cult confraternities and members arrested on May 12 in Edo State be arraigned in court today for prosecution.
Force Public Relations Officer, CP Emmanuel C. S. Ojukwu, said yesterday in Abuja that the IGP’s order followed the completion of investigations into the matter.
“It would be recall that the suspects played ignoble roles in acts of terror, vicious inter and intra cult conflicts that led to destruction of lives and property in Edo State,” Ojukwu said.
“The Police High Command further appeals to members of public to continue to collaborate with the Police in ensuring that crime is reduced to barest minimum in their areas,” he added.
