Ochada OnuIfe, Abubakar Ibrahim Idris
By YUSUF ABUBAKAR
The new Ochada Onu’Ife, Chief Abubakar Ibrahim Idris, has advocated that government at all levels should give more attention to traditional Institutions.
In his congratulatory message to the Ojogba of Ife, HRH Chief Boniface Usman Musa, on his 25 years anniversary on the throne at his palace in Abejukolo, headquarters of Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State. Abubakar Idris, who was honoured with the chieftaincy title of Ochada Onu’Ife on Friday, February 26, 2021, solicited for more positive action from local, state and federal government.
He said that “as custodians of our heritage and culture, traditional rulers deserve all amenities that will enable them to carry out their roles effectively and efficiently.”
The former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant urged the government “to inculcate the critical roles of our traditional Institutions into the constitution along with commensurate remunerations.”
The newly beaded Ochada Onu’Ife also appealed to prominent sons and daughters of the community to rally round the paramount ruler, so as to continue to deploy his wealth of experience on the stool for the betterment of the community.
He described HRH Chief Boniface Usman Musa as peace-loving and a philanthropist with high acumen for human advancement.
“All along, he has been at the forefront of preaching the gospel of humanitarian posture, development and advancement of Ife land,” Idris said.
He noted that the royal father’s progressive mindedness, in spite his royal status, is responsible for the success recorded in Ife kingdom for over two decades now.
Idris thanked the royal father for considering him worthy of the title, promising to play his traditional roles and by extension contribute more to the development of the entire Ife kingdom.
