President Muhammadu Buhari has gone into his first meeting with the country’s Service Chiefs.
A terse statement signed by the President’s Senior Special Assistant (Media & Publicity), Mal. Garba Shehu, said: “President Muhammadu Buhari meets with Service Chiefs at the Defence House in Abuja on Tuesday, 02 June 2015. Among the Service Chiefs in attendance at the meeting were Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Kenneth T. J. Minimah, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal A. N. Amosun, Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral U. O. Jibrin and Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase.”
The statement did not give an idea of the agenda of the meeting but top on the list is believed to be the Boko Haram insurgency which the President has vowed to stamp out. Buhari had in his inaugural address last Friday ordered the military Command Centre to relocate to Maiduguri and remain there until Boko Haram is defeated.
