A new management is now in place at The Sun, as well as at its sister publication, New Telegraph. Both newspapers are based in Lagos and published by former Abia State Governor Orji Uzor Kalu.
A statement issued this morning by The Sun Publishing Limited said the Board of Directors has approved the appointment of Mr. Eric Osagie as Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief to succeed Mr. Femi Adesina whose appointment as Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, was announced on Sunday evening.
Osagie was until his new appointment Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of New Telegraph, to which he was seconded last year while serving as the Deputy Managing Director/Deputy Editor-in-Chief of The Sun.
Mr. Steve Nwosu, until now Executive Director, Corporate Services at The Sun, is the new Deputy Managing Director/Deputy Editor-in-Chief, while Mrs. Funke Egbemode, until now General Editor of The Sun, takes over from Mr. Osagie at the New Telegraph.
“All the appointments take immediate effect,” the statement said.
