Erratic water and power supply in the University of Ibadan arising from the nationwide fuel crisis yesterday forced the schoolauthorities to ask the students to vacate the premises for two weeks, until the problems are fully addressed.
“The management has asked the students to proceed on a two-week mid-semester break,” the Director of Public Communications of the institution, Mr. Olatunji Oladejo, said.
Meanwhile, students of Independence Hall of the institution had, in the early hours of Monday, staged a protest, complaining they were facing hard times as a result of shortage of water and electricity on campus.
A student who spoke to News Express on the sitation said: “'We only have power in school for two hours. After that, it goes off for the second day. And I believe it is because of the fuel scarcity. It is a serious problem indeed.”
