Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, on Thursday declared a dusk-till-dawn curfew in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, a day after a communal clash broke out in Atikankan area of Ado Ekiti.
This restriction will take effect between 6pm and 6am, beginning from Thursday, May 21.
Security in the capital was thereafter beefed up, after yesterday morning’s skirmish.
But information from the government reveals that the curfew is now imposed by the governor to forestall any further clash between the warring factions
The state has recently come under intense security scrutiny after two notable persons were kidnapped in the past weeks.
The governor was said to have asked for deployment of Special Forces to arrest the situation.
