The President-elect, retired Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.), says from May 29, he wishes to be called President – without adding the title of General.
This is contained in a statement released in Abuja on Sunday by the Director, Media and Publicity, APC Presidential Campaign Organisation, Malam Garba Shehu.
The statement stated that the President-elect and Vice-President-elect were to be respectively known and addressed by their new nomenclatures.
“'They should be addressed as Muhammadu Buhari, President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, (SAN) Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria.” (NAN)
