Why Buhari’s 9-Point Agenda is unreasonable and unachievable, By Mike-Nifty A.A

From the popular 7-point agenda to the 3-point agenda and now the infamous 9-point agenda: this, in my candid opinion, is tragically, unrealistically and un-ideologically declining and, will never be achievable because, as at the day this article was written, President Muhammadu Buhari has three years and one month to leave office. So, I put it to you in your rational thinking faculty: How is it achievable to treat every one of the agenda when, holistically, there is no progress from this current government and they will be too caught up with just one of the agendas and waste rigorous times on it till the current tenure of President Buhari is over.

How do you tend to play the old trick in a new fashion on the populace that has their eyes now wide open? You cannot bring up an agenda when there is a state of emergency in probably every key economic sector. We can relate the whole ideology to the recent happenings during the first lockdown of the coronavirus, when the Federal Government distributed palliatives to the extremely poor and vulnerable of the Nigerian society under the auspices of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and evil-minded people that the palliatives were handed over to in each state withheld it in various warehouses across the federation. How evil can one be when people are crying of hunger and a soul kept what was meant for those poor people to survive temporarily with during the period of the pandemic; that is how pathetic the evil people in various positions in Nigeria are and I hope they can repent and change from their ways.

Persons in sensitive positions should all be tested, because setting up an achievable agenda is useless and would be futile under the tutelage of corrupt and dubious people assigned to carry out and make full implementation of the set-agenda. So, scrapping of bad leadership is crucial in implementing different agendas for the development of any nation. Buhari should have just settled for a point agenda (one-point agenda), and we will all understand as citizens that all the agendas set up by previous rulers were all a fluke, including the current Buhari's 9-point agenda; because in the reality of the normal Nigerian settings, only a point will materialise out of the whole nine, so no one can be deceived.

The youths have woken up: this is the Soro-Soke generation, which means “speak up and loudly” for them to hear you. The Federal Government can work more to empower the youths and do the needful, because the youth are the integral part of the development of the country not to be left in shambles and shackles.

The reality of the normal Nigerian setting is in the obviousity of every knowledgeable man that none of those agendas would not be implemented or come to fruition or see the light of day, because analytically speaking and as a certified public affairs analyst, I know that every second term of any government from state to federal level is to come and embezzle and make humongous amount of money, knowing that is their final opportunity to steal for themselves and their family to enjoy a long-lasting vacation on an island after their tenure.

More so, we know that Mr President is a former military leader; and in the military I know they don’t take any form of misconduct or corruption. But it’s unfortunate that today's line of democracy in Nigeria was built on corruption. President Buhari should, therefore, get to work and achieve the 9-point agenda. And the only way he can achieve this is to take it personal.
