Nigerian troops this morning recorded yet another breakthrough in the battle against Boko Haram remnants in Sambisa Forest, Borno State. Giving an update on the war against the insurgents, Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, disclosed that troops destroyed seven more terrorist camps and made several seizures while also freeing another batch of 25 hostages.
Said Col. Usman in a statement, a copy of which was made available to News Express: “Our troops are unrelenting in their determined efforts of vanquishing Boko Haram terrorists wherever they are. So far, they have been making tremendous progress in Sambisa forest. In a fierce encounter, as at this morning, they have destroyed seven more terrorists camps. These include ALAFA 1, 2, 3 and 4, ROGO FULANI, LARAGA FULANI and One unnamed camp.
“Many of the terrorists were killed, Anti-Aircraft guns and Rocket Propelled Grenade tubes were captured, four vehicles mounted with high calibre weapons were destroyed.
“The gallant troops also rescued 25 women and children. Unfortunately, one soldier paid the supreme price while 5 others sustained various degrees of injuries. The battle continues till all the terrorists are either killed or captured.”
