UNICEF launches U-Report e-governance platform today in Lagos

The United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) and partners will officially launch the U-Report platform in Nigeria today.

U-Report is an innovative SMS-based platform that empowers Nigerians by enabling them to participate and engage in policy-making and governance and access real time information on key social issues.

Media coordinators of the event, Geoffrey Njoku and Blessing Ejiofor, said it would take place at Federal Palace Hotel – Victoria Island Lagos by 11a.m. prompt.

They said that prominent attendees would include Ms. Jean Gough – UNICEF Representative, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), National Orientation Agency (NOA) and telecommunication companies.

Popular Nigerian artistes Banky W, Seyi Shay and Kiss Daniels are expected to perform at the event.
