Former Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Ali Olanusi has approached the Federal High Court in Akure, in an attempt to fault the process that led to his impeachment.

In a motion exparte filled by his lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje, before the judge, Justice Ishaq Sani, Mr Olanusi urged the court to rule that the committee, which sat and recommended his impeachment, was a kangaroo committee.

While referring to the case of Alhaji Danladi against Taraba State House of Assembly, the lawyer noted that the committee had 30 days to sit but chose to sit within three days.

In its ruling, however, the court refused to grant the request to stop the impeachment.

Justice Sani ordered the former Deputy Governor to put the House of Assembly on notice so that all parties would appear in court at the next adjourned date of May 7.
