Nigerian Army retires 31 Generals

Thirty-one Generals have been retired by the Nigerian Army. Seventeen of those affected are Major Generals while 14 are Brigadier Generals.

A reliable source close to the military however told News Express minutes ago: “There is nothing political about it; it is normal retirement and not compulsory retirement.”

News Express could not immediately confirm the names of the affected Generals. Defence Spokesman, Maj.-Gen. Chris Olukolade, did not immediately respond to a text message sent to his line.
