The burial programme for the late Oronto Natei Douglas, former Senior Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Research, Documentation, and Strategy, has been released by the family. Douglas died at the State House Clinic, Abuja, on Thursday, April 9, after years of battling cancer.
The funeral rites will start with An Evening of Tributes by the Creative Industry at Eko Hotel & Suites, VI, Lagos, on Tuesday, April 28.
The high point of the six-day programme released this morning in Abuja is Douglas’ burial at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, at the St Mark’s Anglican Church Premises, Okoroba, Nembe LGA of Bayelsa State.
The burial will be preceded at 9:00 a.m. by a Valedictory Session by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) at the Chief Judges’ Court, Yenagoa, in the Bayelsa State capital.
The Funeral Service follows at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre, Yenagoa at 10:30 a.m.
The burial programme ends on Sunday, May 3, with a Thanksgiving/Outing Service at St Mark’s Anglican Church, Okoroba, Nembe.
