The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) has said the council would not support any group or individual resorting to violence or blowing pipelines as a result of the defeat of President Jonathan.
President of IYC, Mr Udengs Eradiri stated this on Wednesday in an interview in Yenagoa, urging his people to rather find a way to support the new government.
He lauded the resilience and doggedness of President Goodluck Jonathan for accepting defeat after Saturday’s elections.
Eradiri, who blamed the loss of President Jonathan to the cabal around him for betraying him at the last minutes, warned that the PDP should not involve the President in their litigation plans.
Eradiri called on President Jonathan to use the remaining two months left in his administration to implement the recommendations of the National Conference report.
On his part, the Chairman of the Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO) in Bayelsa, Chief Nengi James said President Goodluck Jonathan has created history for allowing a democratic process without any interference.
He called on the new government not to abandon all the policies of the PDP government but to consolidate and improve on them.
James commended the peaceful nature of the state after the opposition victory, adding that President Jonathan tried his best during the elections but his associates disappointed him
