The Borno State governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has inaugurated the Technical Committee of the North-east governor’s forum in the state.

The inauguration which took place at the Council chamber of the government house is made up of 6 secretaries of the various state governments. It also consists of focal persons of North-East Development Commission (NEDC) from each of the 6 states.

Secretary to the government of Gombe state and Chairman of the Technical Committee, Professor Abubakar Ibrahim Njodi thanked the governor for hosting the members and he also pledge the committee’s total commitment to work harmoniously to develop the region.

Governor Zulum, while giving his remarks thanked the Chairman of the Committee and its members for accepting the huge tasks and pledging total commitment.

Zulum said:“The North east is endowed with fertile land for any agricultural produce,large deposit of untapped mineral resources with young and agile youths that can produce the best manpower in the country if given the appropriate and enabling ground to harness their potentials.”

“The north east region has the largest number of livestock in the country, the Lake Chad basin if properly revive will give millions of people work in the North East.”

“For us to achieve this purpose we must work closely to develop this region and for the technical committee, you stand as the engine room playing a vital role in achieving our goal.”

The governor further mentioned that “North East has the potential of generating hydroelectric power that can provide for the entire Northern Nigeria, and solar electrification is also not left out.“
