PMAN President Pretty Okafor and COSON boss, Tony Okoroji
President of Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria, Pretty Okafor, has file for appeal on a recent court judgment against him.
Maggie's Blog reports that chairman of Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), Tony Okoroji recently initiated a court action against Okafor which resulted in a judgment in favour of Okoroji.
The PMAN leader had maintained that he was neither served any court notice to defend himself now was he present in the court on the day of judgement.
As a follow up, Okafor said in a statement on Monday that his lawyers have already filed for stay of execution and have also filed to appeal the said judgment.
"My lawyers have gotten the file and also found the tactics that went down, they have gone ahead to file a Stay of Execution. We have also filed to appeal the judgment because the Judge was grossly misled on the proceeding," said Okafor.
Continuing he said,
"I keep saying that I will not join in any propaganda or any witch-hunt because facts don’t lie. I will speak the truth and I will boldly say it to anybody's face."
Pray the legal wrangling between these two musical heavyweights ends soon.
