Hon Chinedu Ogah
By CHARLES IWUOHA
The member representing Ezza-South/Ikwo Federal Constituency of Ebonyi State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Chinedu Ogah, has lauded the state Commissioner of Police, Philip Maku, for combating criminal activities across the state.
Ogah in a statement on Monday signed by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Ogochukwu Elem, said that since Maku assumed duties, Ebonyi has become unsafe for hoodlums.
He also commended other senior officers of the command for their support to the CP, which he said has ensured the safety of the state and the citizenry.
The lawmaker commended the CP and his team for tracking and rescuing a kidnap victim who was taken to Ikwo Local Government Area of the state from neighbouring Enugu State.
He urged Ebonyi people to assist the police in doing their job by providing adequate information to them
The statement reads: “I commend the Commissioner of Police, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, the AK Commander, and the entire police for the work they are doing in the state especially in rescuing kidnap victims in the hands of kidnappers.
“Raphael Nworie a suspected kidnapper and his gang on Friday kidnapped one Mr Obasi Chigozie from Awgu local government area of Enugu state and brought to Ikwo, so that he will not know his way. But on the kidnappers way going back, police traced and got them in Ikwo which made the kidnappers to abandon their vehicle and ran into the bush when one of them came out on Saturday morning to find his way home, he was arrested by the villagers in Ikwo and immediately contacted the police. It is worthy of commendation.
“I assure the command that the people of my constituency Ezza South/Ikwo shall continue to assist the police in carrying out their duties as there is no hiding place for them in my constituency.”
