Veteran movie producer and director, Zebulon Ejiro popularly known as Zeb Ejiro is planning a sequel to his box office titled Domitilla.

Speaking to Maggie’s Blog on Monday, the Isoko, Delta State-born film maker who is widely acclaimed as the “Sheik of Nigeria’s Movie Industry” said,

“The project is a response to recent demands by the huge fan base of the first Domtilla, which was a favourite on home screens in the ‘90s. Production of the film is set to kick-start later in the year, while its cinema release will be in 2021.

Speaking further, he said the sequel which is a crime/drama film, tells the story of young Domitilla Junior fondly called ‘DJ’, the daughter of Domitilla, who gets into adventurous romantic escapades for survival. She and her clique of promiscuous friends are unfortunately caught up in the mysterious death of a loved powerful figure and must do everything possible to prove their innocence.

Speaking about the cast, Zeb who in November 2005 received a National award of Member of the Federal Republic (MFR) in recognition of his immense contributions to the Nigerian film industry said,

“The initial Domitilla released in 1996 stared A-list actors such as Ann Njemanze (Domitilla), Sandra Achums, Kate-Henshaw and Enebeli Elebuwa, to mention a few. The sequel is set to be a showcase of an artistic harmony between veterans and younger actors.”

The project is a joint production of Zeb Ejiro Productions, FilmOne Entertainment and Dioni Visions.
