The Interim Management Committee Chairman, Ngor Okpala Local Government Council, Hon. Chief Mayor Obinna Nweke, has called on his appointees to be sensitive to their duties as he urged them to imbibe the culture of discipline and loyalty to higher authorities.

He admonished them to be law-abiding and work in line with the directives given to them, adding that they should shun any trace of anti-party activities or such that would earn them the exit door from the administrative system of Governor Hope Uzodimma

While inaugurating the appointees to the Council, Nweke advised them to desist from activities that might tarnish both their image and the image of the government, stressing that involving in such activities will definitely make them be held culpable. He enjoined them to work in line with the 3R mantra (Reconstruction, Rehabilitation & Recovery), as well as the prosperity initiative of the State Government.

A statement signed by Anthony Okere, Special Assistant on Media to the IMC Chairman, said the Council boss inaugurated his Special Advisers, Senior Special Advisers and Personal Assistants at the Local Government Council Headquarters, Umuneke.

“The 43 appointees of the Council who were inaugurated included Nze Christian Nworgu, Dyckson Chymdy, Chief Nwosu Victor, Otelehi Chinomso, Nkwocha Blessing-Special, Ekeh Gary Iyke, Onwumelu Kelvin Chigbu, Okere Anthony, Okere Franklin N, Ugwuadu Oluchi C, Amadi Ifeanyi, Oguchi Manum, Ike Vincent, Okere Casmir, Okuru Christopher, Anuforo Charles, Agbakwuru Emmanuel, Anokwu Chidi, Nwosu Chiaka And Iroegbu Ukwunna Stanley.

“Others are Okere Victor, Nwosu Bede, Ejereonyeonyeoku Salem, Nweke Pascal, Hon Sunny Mgbemena, Onyeulo Georgia, Umelo Chinelo, Nwachukwu Cosmas .U, Okere Emmanuel, Nkwocha Emmanuel, Opara Nnamdi J., Nwankwo Wisdom, Ekeh Steven , Amadi Chioma, Japheth Favour, Okere Franca, Ukaegbu Charity, Ukaegbu Ifeanyi, Ukwuoma Obinna, Akujiobi John, Rev Paul Madugba, Aguomba Ikedichi and Fortune Onyeakazi,” the statement noted.

The Director of Administration and General Services, Barr Emeka Oduah, conducted the oath-taking. The above appointees pledged to perform their functions honestly to the best of their abilities, in accordance with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the laws of Imo State and the rules of Ngor Okpala Local Government.

Some of the dignitaries that graced the inauguration included the Director, Imo Orientation Agency, Dr. Ethelbert Okere, Hon. Onyeakazi Maxwell Chike, Hon. Theophilus Ihediuba, Hon. Nze Christian Nwaorgu, the Director of Civil Defence, the leader of the Council, Hon. Remy Okere, and other Councilors, among others.

In his speech at the occasion, the Director, Imo Orientation Agency, Dr Okere urged them to emulate the leadership of their Principal, Chief Nweke. He said, looking at his pedigree and resume, one will understand that he is better than other IMC Chairmen in the past.

He described Chief Nweke as a seasoned technocrat who knows how to initiate ideas of shared prosperity just like his master, Governor Hope Uzodimma. Dr. Okere therefore solicited the appointees’ support for the IMC Chairman, adding that as they are supporting the IMC Chairman, they are as well supporting the Governor.
