Ronaldo turns up 4 hours early to smash Juventus fitness tests

Cristiano Ronaldo’s levels have not dropped whatsoever during the lockdown.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has been back training with Juventus as Italy prepares for the return of Serie A action behind closed doors.

And according to AS, Ronaldo was on the training pitch FOUR hours before his teammates and took part in some individual training and tests.

It’s also said that judging by his results, CR7 has returned in even better shape than he was in prior to the suspension of football – having kept up his intense training regime while in quarantine.

Ronaldo lives by the motto: “No rest for the wickend”. There are countless stories about his innate work ethic and dedication seeing him take part in late night training sessions after big Champions League games – so it’s no surprise that he’s got to where he is in his career.

A few months back, Joaquín Maroto from AS revealed all the information as to what the 35-year old does on a daily basis to stay on top of his game.

In addition to training with Juventus and Portugal, he has his own programme that comprises of five gym sessions a week, with pilates and swimming also part of his regime.

And these are anything but warm down sessions for the former Real Madrid and Manchester United star, as often his personal trainers have to step in and stop him overtraining such is his dedication and desire to be the best.

Furthermore, Ronaldo’s diet sees him have six different meals per day – typically pasta and chicken for his protein and carbohydrate fix – and none of them are ever cooked with salt.

Ronaldo will allow himself to have orange or pineapple juice at breakfast in the morning but other than he only drinks water, while he places a great focus on getting eight hours sleep every night.

What’s more, he always has a siesta – a short nap in the afternoon – after his fourth meal of the day. (Agency report)
