Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu
By SUNNY OKIM
Indigenes of Akwa Ibom and Cross River States resident in Lagos have scored Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu high in his one year in office.
Speaking with News Express on Friday, the President-General, Akwa Cross Community Worldwide, His Royal Majesty, Etubom (Dr) Samson U. Samson said the Lagos State governor has displayed optimum qualities in governance since he was sworn in on May 29, 2019.
According to the monarch, Governor Sanwo-Olu has proved to be a detribalised leader by all his actions.
"My people and I are very happy with the style of governance by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. He is a detribalised leader. He carries everybody along even when he wants to take difficult decisions. He understands that Lagos State is mini Nigeria, which is made up of all the tribes in the country and foreigners as well," said Samson.
Sighting the period of total lockdown in Lagos State due to COVID-19 as an example, the traditional title holder said the governor showed that he is a father of all, no segregation.
"The governor ensured that the palliatives provided by the Lagos state government were fairly distributed to natives and non natives. That's the kind of quality that makes a good leader," said Samson.
Samson also applauded the governor for the high security level in Lagos State as well as internally generated revenue (IGR) which he said is the highest in the country.
According to Samson, Sanwo-Olu has performed above average in his one year as governor.
He called on all Lagosians to cooperate with the governor and the state government in the onerous task of governing a complex state like Lagos.
He assured that the people of Akwa Ibom and Cross River States (AKWA CROSS) resident in Lagos, of which he is the leader, will continue to be law abiding citizens.
