Liverpool have announced they will refund everyone who has bought a ticket for the last four home games of the season.

With the 2019/20 Premier League campaign’s remaining games set to take place behind closed doors, Liverpool season ticket holders and members who already paid to attend home matches will be reimbursed.

The move is set to cost the Reds an estimated £13million in ticket sales alone.

Liverpool fans would’ve expected to watch a title procession, with the Reds 25-points clear at the top of the league with nine games to play.

A club statement read: “Season ticket holders will receive a full pro rata refund for all remaining home games, while Members who have purchased tickets on a match-by-match basis will receive a refund for any of the matches that they have purchased tickets for.

“We will be contacting each affected ticket holder during the course of the next 14 days to provide more information on the refund process based on the category of ticket they have purchased. We ask that all supporters wait to receive further correspondence from the club and refrain from contacting us regarding refunds in the meantime.
