School of Nursing and Mid­wifery, Nkpor Idemili-North local government area of Anambra State has sent a save-our-soul message to the state government to rescue the school from the tyranny of hoodlums who take advantage of the institution’s broken fences to molest female students sexually and steal their belongings.

The school, which is said to be under the captivity of mis­creants lurking around the area, has suffered the terror and mayhem meted out to it by daredevils who preyed on the students mostly at nights when they were most vulnerable due to the school’s lack of perimeter fences.

However, hope seems to be in sight as the school has appealed to Governor Willie Obiano to prevail on the state commissioner for health to respond to the situation with immediate alacrity so that the students could heave a sigh of relief from the treacherous and ferocious acts of hoodlums.

The institution’s appeal was contained in a motion present­ed to the Anambra State House of Assembly and sponsored by the lawmaker representing Aguata one state constituen­cy, Hon.Cater Dike Nnamdi Umeh.

Presenting the motion on the plight of School of Nurs­ing and Midwifery Nkpor, the lawmaker explained that “as a matter of urgent public im­portance, there is a dire need for Governor Willie Obiano to direct the Honourable Com­missioner for Health to recon­struct the perimeter fences that fell in the school in order to beef up security within the school environment.”

The lawmaker said that the school was currently a sorry sight because he visited the school and saw the level of ru­ins in the institution coupled with the many atrocities that have befallen the school due to the dilapidated fences which he believed provided unlimited ac­cess for disgruntled elements to subject the school to unneces­sary tutelage.
