Supporters of the presidential candidates of Nigeria’s two major political parties have clashed at a forum involving one of the candidates in London, England.
“At the moment, London MET police officers are passing through hard times to control Nigerian protesters at the Chatham House in London,” one source said.
“You just need to be here to feel the tension. There is now a battle line drawn by the police between pro GEJ and GMB. I will send details later,” the source added.
GEJ stands for Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, who is seeking re-election as President on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) while GMB stands for Muhammadu Buhari, candidate of the main opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).
The clash took place as Buhari, who has been in London since last week, was being expected to address Chatham House.
