The Anambra State Police Command Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) has arrested four robbery suspects who specialise in snatching and dismantling vehicles and selling same as spare parts.

The suspects include 23-year-old Emeka Onyeoma, Chidiebele Amaluaka, aged 22 years and Ezenwaokolo Ikechukwua, 20-year-old respectively.

Suspects were said to have at about 2:30pm on 24/2/2020 allegedly lured one Pastor Uche Iheme, aged 41-year-old of Awomama, Imo State, to a location behind First Bank Oye olisa Ogidi, Idemili North LGA of the state, and snatched his Toyota RAV4 Car with Reg number GRE 170 AA.

The suspects also made away with the victim's Samsung J4 phone valued at #82,000 and cash sum of Five thousand US Dollars.

A statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Haruna Mohammed, said that the suspects shot the victim on his left limb and fled, leaving him unconscious in the pool of his blood.

The statement partly reads: “On the 5/5/2020 at about 11:30am following intelligence report, Police operatives attached to the Command Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) arrested three suspects at different locations within Nkpor axis.

“Discreet investigation also led to the arrest of their receiver one Abuchi James ‘m’ aged about 30 years at Mgbuka Obosi where the snatched vehicle was completely dismantled and sold out but the engine was recovered.”

Mohammed reeled out exhibits recovered from the suspects to include one Barreta pistol with three rounds of .9mm ammunition as well as the engine of the snatched vehicle.

He said that case is under investigation after which suspects would be charged to court for prosecution.
