Aviation Ministry commissions staff welfare buses

Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka (Ike-Obosi), has commissioned a fleet of buses for use by staff of the ministry.

Commissioning the buses at the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, February 18, Chidoka said it is a staff welfare initiative and another landmark achievement of the worker-friendly Goodluck Jonathan administration.

The minister said that by providing the buses, the President has created jobs for Nigerians in Nigeria and mobility for the staff of the ministry of aviation in a safe and secure manner. He said the idea of creating jobs is embedded in building local industries and creating jobs for Nigerians in Nigeria.

Chidoka further described the provision of the staff welfare buses as a reaffirmation of President Jonathan’s transformation agenda and a proof that the government has the Nigerian worker in mind. He admonished the workers to use the buses effectively, safely and sustainably.

In his remarks, Chairman of the Aviation Joint Unions, Hector Nnadi, thanked the minister for the purchase of the buses and asked him to convey the workers’ appreciation to the President.

Nnadi said: “The provision of these buses is our own dividend of the President’s administration and we are happy about it. We thank the President for all the projects he has done in the aviation sector.”
