The member, Representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dumnamene Dekor, has applauded Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for living true to his promise to reduce the hardship occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic and the concomitant sit-at-home measure to checkmate its spread in the state.

Dekor made the declaration shortly after the Governor’s palliatives were delivered to the good people of Gokana and Khana, in Gokana Local Government and Khana Local Government areas, on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 and Wednesday, April, 29, 2020, respectively.

The Federal Lawmaker, a one-time Commissioner for Works, described Governor Wike’s distribution network of the palliatives as second to none, saying that the most vulnerable group targeted by the initiative are being readily captured.

Rt. Hon. Dekor on behalf of Khana/Gokana constituents thanked His Excellency for remembering his people in this time of great need, calling it one great good turn deserving another as the good people of Khana and Gokana have always seen His Excellency as one of them and supported him accordingly.

The Federal Lawmaker, who was also a former Deputy Speaker, Rivers State House of Assembly, expressed optimism that “the trying period will soon be over and at the end of it all, Wike’s unique efforts in this extraordinary time will be given its proper place in history and his name written in gold.”

Dekor further appealed to his constituents to continue to exercise patience and pray for the early end of the coronavirus pandemic and also continue to support Governor Wike by being law abiding and keeping the directives as well as all precautionary measures against COVID-19 as ordered by the state government, to stay safe.

The Federal Lawmaker has, meanwhile, commended the good people of Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency for peaceful inauguration of ward executives of the party across the two Local Government Areas of Khana and Gokana of the state.

He particularly commended the people for observing social distancing, wearing of face masks, washing their hands, use of alcohol base sanitisers and all other directives given by the party for the conduct of the swearing in ceremony for ward executives.

Dekor also applauded the Wike and the leadership of the party for making the PDP a formidable party in the state.
