
The Senator representing Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Aloysius Etok, has declared his interest to contest for the Akwa Ibom Football Association (AKFA) chairmanship position.
Senator Etok, who has already purchased the chairmanship form for the contest, said he found himself “credible enough to pilot the affairs of the Association because I have garnered a lot of experience.”
The Senator disclosed that he owns a football club in the state, adding: “I have been involving in football management in the state for quite some time now.
“If I am given the opportunity to head the state FA, I will change a good number of things in football administration in the state and all will stand the opportunity of benefitting.”
News Express reports that the lawmaker, whose tenure as a Senator ends on May 29, 2015, was accompanied by the former team manager of Akwa United FC, Mr. Anietie Ukpa, and Coach Ata Ntukidem, among others, when he arrived the state FA office at Ministry of Youth and Sports to purchase the form.
