Bayelsa mourns as SSG’s wife, others die in road crash •Governor suspends engagements for 3 days

Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson, has suspended all his official engagements for three days in honour of the wife of Prof. Edmond Allison-Oguru, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and a group of prominent Bayelsa women, who perished in a fatal road accident on the Ahoada/Elele section of the East/West Road in Rivers State on Saturday.

In a statement, Governor Dickson described the incident as tragic, a monumental and painful loss to the state, stressing that ‘‘the women that lost their lives in the accident were our mothers and sisters.’’

Governor Dickson also prayed God to grant the bereaved families the courage and strength to bear the very painful and irreparable losses.
