The Kano State Government says it has concluded arrangements for the coronation and presentation of staff of office to former Central bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi II, as the Emir of Kano. The event is scheduled for this Saturday, Feb. 7.

Alhaji Mailafia Sanka, the Special Adviser to the state Governor on Kano Emirate Council, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Friday.

“The state government has made special arrangements for the grand occasion as prominent personalities from all walks of life are expected to grace the coronation,” Sanka said.

Already, he said, dignitaries from within and outside the country had started arriving for the grand occasion.

“The occasion will be held at the newly-constructed Coronation Hall located in the Government House,” he said.

NAN reports that Kano city is wearing a new look as eminent personalities have been arriving for the grand event widely described as the “Century Great Coronation”.

NAN recalls that Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II was appointed the 14th Emir of Kano on June 8, 2014, following the death of Emir Alhaji Ado Bayero on June 6, 2014.
