The Jam’iyyatu Ansariddeen Attijaniyya Organisation has disowned a Kano-based singer accused of composing a song containing derogatory comments on Prophet Muhammad.

The national secretary of organisation, Sayyidi Muhammad AlQasim Yahaya, in a statement in Abuja, said contrary to reports, the Dariqatul Tijjaniyya and Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass had immense love for Prophet Muhammad.

One Yahaya Sharif-Aminu, reported to be a member of Tijjaniya and Faidha group, had composed the song which sparked a protest in Kano last Wednesday.

His family house located at Sharifai Quarters in Kano Municipal Local Government Area was also set ablaze last Friday by irate youths.

However, the Dariqatul Tijjaniyya stated: “By what evidence was Faidah adjudged to place preference of Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass over the Holy Prophet?

Sheikh llbrahim Nyass wrote more than 6,000 verses of praise for Prophet Muhammad.

“The Sheikh’s nujumul huda and the diwaninul sitta remain unparalleled in the eulogies of the Holy Prophet.

To date, there is not a single person who praised the Holy Prophet as Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass did.”(Daily Trust)
