Obiano flags off N1.6b Oye-Olisa-Ogidi Road

The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, amidst cheers from jubilant indigenes of Ogidi in Oyi Local Government Area, on Wednesday flagged off work on a 3.6 /2.3kilometre-roads estimated to cost N1.6 billion.

Addressing the jubilant Ogidi people, Governor Obiano said that the road will take only nine months to be completed, adding that more roads will be constructed in due course, as road construction is most vital to his administration. He appealed to the people to vote for all the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), candidates to ensure continuity of the good works the party is already doing in the state.

On his part, the National Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Chief Victor Umeh, said that the road construction was the beginning of the many good things the APGA government will do in Anambra State. He advised the people to hold firm unto the governor by supporting his government and voting en masse for the candidates of (APGA), both at the state and federal levels.

His words: “This is just the beginning. It’s your duty to hold firmly unto him to do more, because he is a man that lives (up) to his promises. Bear in mind: it is the governor that constructs roads. So, if anybody comes here to campaign and tell you he/she will construct roads for you, the person is only lying. Support the course of APGA, because supporting APGA means supporting the Igbo course. Akpokuodike is s man you can trust, because he does not lie. And whatever he promises to do, he will do.”

On his part, one of the engineers handling the road construction, Mr Nasa, said that though the governor said the road will be ready in nine months, that they will complete it within seven months.
