Unlike what happened during the 2011 presidential election, ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, may not get the block vote of Ndigbo during the February 14, 2015 presidential poll.
An elaborate report scheduled to be published tomorrow in the large-circulating Saturday Sun paints a picture of the South-East (Ndigbo) as a people disappointed by President Jonathan’s failure to reciprocate their strong support for him in 2011.
A promo of the story in Daily Sun quoted South-East leaders and clergymen as lamenting: “President betrayed us.”
Sun said that one-time Vice President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, a PDP founding father, dropped a bombshell during an exclusive interview with the paper, saying that Jonathan may not have maximum support from South-East this time around.
News Express has in the past reported a deep sense of anger and disappointment among Ndigbo over the neglect of the zone by Jonathan despite the key role they played in bringing him to power.
