A popular musician and prayer warrior in Anambra State, Evangelist Obinna Offor, is now in police net over alleged kidnap.
Also in the net is Offor’s 65-year-old mother, Madam Grace Offor, for allegedly serving as the cook for the son’s kidnap victims.
Speaking with journalists yesterday while being paraded with other suspects by Anambra State Commissioner for Police, Mr. Hassan Karma, Madam Offor confirmed that her son and his friends kidnapped one Ahanaonu Jacinta with her vehicle, a Honda CRV, at 33 Nkwelle Ezunaka, Anambra State, and brought her to the Offors’ house at Arondizuogu in neighbouring Imo State.
“My son is a musician and a prayer warrior and I was surprised he could engage in such a nasty deal to the extent of being a kidnapper. I am amazed and short of words,” she said but denied being the gang’s cook as claimed by the police.
Among others paraded by Karma at the State Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) headquarters in Awkuzu, Oyi Local Government Area of the state, were 12 other suspects said to be among those that have been terrorising Anambra State.
Karma commended Governor Willie Obiano for his support in the fight against criminals in the state. He noted that they have received logistic support, vehicles and communication gadgets and assured of the police commitment and dedication to make the state a crime free state with the support from the public with information.
