Friday’s re-arrest of Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Mr. Omoyele Sowore, who is also the convener of #RevolutionNow, and his co-accused Olawale Bakare by the Department of State Services (DSS) “is clearly a tactical blunder”, according to US-based Nigerian lawyer and activist, Emmanuel Ogebe.
“The re-arrest Of Sowore and Bakare is a resurgence of barbarism of the highest order.
It is clearly a tactical blunder coming on the heels of US Senator Menendez’s letter to Ambassador Nsofor regarding their detention barely a week ago,” Ogebe, Principal Partner of the Washington-based US Nigeria Law Group, said in a statement e-mailed to News Express on Saturday.
Lambasting the Muhammadu Buhari administration, he said: “This administration is not only wicked but it is witless. It has stolen defeat from the jaws of victory!
”America’s Democracy is impeaching a president while Nigeria’s President is impeaching a Democracy.”
