Saboteurs frustrating war against Boko Haram —Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan says the Federal Government’s efforts in tackling insecurity arising from the activities of the Boko Haram terrorist group in some parts of the country is being hampered and sabotaged.

The President spoke while receiving some Nollywood and music stars under the auspices of Creative Professionals, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Friday.

The President, who described the alleged sabotage as frustrating, added that it was coming from both internal and external forces.

He said his administration is determined to diversify the country’s economy through the utilisation of the creative industry and other intellectuals.

Also at the meeting were Vice President Namadi Sambo, Supervising Minister of Information Nurudeen Mohammed, as well as Minister of Culture and Tourism Edem Duke.

They observed a minute silence for victims of terror attacks in some parts of the country.

Jonathan also spoke on the challenges of infrastructure and pledged his administrations commitment to improving the situation and applauded the entertainment and creative artistes for creating a positive image for the country globally.

Leader of the delegation, Segun Arinze, thanked the President for his administration’s support to the creative industry and urged him to remain focused.

Earlier the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Edem Duke, had reminded the creative professionals to work towards changing the psyche of Nigerians in the face of the security challenges.
