The first phase of the Anambra Hanging Bridge will be completed within the next one month, the State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has promised. Speaking during a surprise visit to the project at Aroma Junction in Awka, the state capital, Obiano disclosed that on completion, the bridge would be like the hanging bridge in London.

The governor said that the contractors would turn attention to other two flyovers at Kwata and Amawbia junctions on completion of the hanging bridge.

He expressed delight at the extent of work already done by the contractors and commended them for the good job they are doing.

Obiano said that the project on completion would assist in improving the image of the capital city in line with the vision of his administration, adding that street lights would be installed on the road on completion.

News Express reports that the three flyover project being handled by IDC construction company was flagged off in June by Obiano as part of activities to mark his first hundred days in office.
