Ibadan violence continues despite Ajimobi's stern warning

Violence continues to erupt in parts of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, even as residents count their losses from violent attacks of last weekend within the city.

Residents, in some of the areas affected, attributed the chaos in which a police inspector has been confirmed dead to the clash which began on Friday during an APC rally at Oke Ado in the south west region of the city.

Unconfirmed reports say at least three people were killed in Saturday’s attack on Idi Arere/Oopo/Born Photo areas of Ibadan but the police denied this account, saying only a police inspector was killed in line of duty while many sustained serious injuries

The Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi in a statement through his Special Assistant on Media, Dr. Festus Adedayo has condemned the attacks with a promise to bring whoever is responsible to book.
