Do or die in Uyo: CAF moves Super Eagles, Bafana Bafana AFCON cracker by one hour

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has moved tomorrow’s 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier between African champions Nigeria and visiting South Africa by an hour. The match, which the Super Eagles must win to qualify for next year’s AFCON in Equatorial Guinea, will now kick off at 6pm, an hour behind the time earlier scheduled, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced yesterday.

“We got information that the match will now kick off at 6pm, and not 5pm as earlier slated,” NFF Head of International Department, Bola Oyeyode, told reporters in Uyo.

Venue for the big showdown is the newly opened Akwa Ibom International Stadium in Uyo, otherwise known as The Nest of Champions.

Both Bafana Bafana, who have already picked a ticket for the 2015 AFCON, and the Super Eagles, have been talking tough ahead of the cracker.
