The unveiling of the specially designed commemorative N100 banknote by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), which was to have been performed by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan at today’s Federal Executive Council (FEC), has been postponed.

The postponement arose as a result of the trip of President Jonathan to Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, “as part of a three-man delegation of Heads of State and Government raised by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to mediate in the current political crisis in Burkina Faso,” CBN’s Director, Corporate Communications Department, Ibrahim Mu’azu, said.

“A new date for the unveiling is expected to be announced soon,” Mu’azu added.
