Afrobeat star Burna Boy
It was a complete shut down on Monday July 15 at the just concluded 2019 Afropunk Festival in Paris when Nigeria’s 28 years old afrobeat crooner Burna Boy mounted stage.
The over 6,000-capacity hall was filled to the brim, and the Rivers State-born multi-talented performer made the best use of the 50 minutes he was on stage.
The crowd chorused along with him his “Ye ye ye” vibes and never wanted the self-styled African Giant (the title of his new album) to leave the stage of the show held at La Seine Musicale Cultural Centre, Boulogne – Billiancourt, Paris.
In his words, “The shelling was relentless, the crowd was incredible. We shut down the Island.”
And as a mark of love and honour, a French fan handed him a crown made of cowries whichBurna Boy wore to perform.
All hail the African Giant!
