Anambra First Lady lauds Local Government Service Commission

First Lady of Anambra State, Chief (Mrs.) Ebelechukwu Obiano, has commended Anambra State Local Service Commission for its programme of reform, sanitisation and transformation of the local government system in the state within four months of the inauguration of the board. Chief (Mrs.) Obiano made the commendation when members of the Commission led by its Chairman, Dr. Peter Egenti, paid her a solidarity visit on Tuesday at the Government House Awka.

The First Lady told the LGA Service Commission to pay particular attention to the workshop to ensure that they are properly motivated in doing their work and ready to earn their keep, thereby adding their quota to the growth and development of the state.

“I am impressed that the Obiano administration is working with competent people like you and your team to build a strong local government system and also strengthen our democracy,” the First Lady said.

She expressed appreciation to the Chairman and the Commissioners for finding time to visit her to show support for the activities of her pet programme under the Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFÉ), which supports indigent and the less privileged as well as working towards a strong and healthy family.

On the state of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief (Mrs.) Obiano assured the visitors that her husband, Governor Willie Obiano, is committed to sustaining the legacy of the founding fathers of the party and is building a strong united party contrary to speculations in some quarters. APGA she added is on the ascendancy.

Earlier, the delegation leader, Dr. Egenti, had told the First Lady that they came to appreciate her and CAFÉ for the good work they are doing in support of the family and the less privileged which was evident across the state during the August meeting 2014. He assured that the ongoing reforms and sanitisation by the Commission are aimed at building a model LGA system in the state. Dr. Egwuatu assured Mrs. Obiano that Ndi Anambra are solidly behind her and her husband in the bid to rebuild and strengthen APGA into a stronger movement in the years ahead.
