Alamieyeseigha’s son dies mysteriously in Dubai

Tragedy has hit the family of former governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha as his third son, Oyamieyifa, 32, was killed in controversial circumstances in Dubai on Saturday night. The deceased popularly called Oyoms, according to a statement issued by the family, was found dead on the stairways at his residence.

Sources close to the family said there were reports that he was allegedly involved in an argument at a nightclub and might have been trailed to his house where he was killed.

A family source hinted that Alamieyeseigha had demanded for explanation on how his son died.

It was gathered that the former governor had left for Dubai to get first-hand information about the death and possibly lodge formal complaint with the police.

Recall that recently, ace sports broadcaster, Aisha Falode’s son, Oluwadamilola Oloruntoba, was also killed in controversial circumstances in Dubai.

Although that country’s police had said he died when he fell off a balcony on a high-rise building, but Aisha believed that her son was murdered, alleging high level conspiracy in Dubai to shield the killers.

Meanwhile, President Goodluck Jonathan has condoled with Alamieyeseigha over the death of his son, describing it as shocking and sad.

In a statement by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, Jonathan said his wife, Patience, particularly shared in the pain and grief over the death of Oyamuyefa in circumstances that were still unclear.
